Just for fun...

Everyone has baby counters on their blog or webpage. Seeing as how I don't have a baby (nor do I plan to anytime soon), I thought it would be fun to post my nieces and nephew's counters. If only for my own entertainment.

I'll start with Jake and Angie's kids, since Jake is the oldest child.

Lilypie doesn't seem to have any little Asian kids, so I did the best I could for picking one that looked (barely) Asian.

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker
I'm sad to say that the nearest-looking Asian baby to pick is white, so just picture an olive-skinned Asian baby :)

Here's Jake's only biological child (not that biology matters in this situation). Alyssa is the sweetest baby EVER. I have never been around such a happy girl. I have such a soft spot for her.

And now for Mary and Jordan's kids! I wish they little had little baby figures with gigantic heads. Mary's kids have huge heads, and it always makes us laugh.

Just thinking about Xander makes me smile. He's the spazziest little boy ever, but with such a happy disposition, his spazziness only makes him more endearing.

Scoutie is the fattest baby I've ever seen. Ever. She is so freakin' cute. It's a blast to buy that kid clothes. You just want to dress in her in cute Target stuff.

I've never really liked kids. I sucked at babysitting, and I didn't care at all for kids, even if they were cute. Hollie is the oldest of the grandkids, but Jake and Angie didn't adopt her till she was 14 months old, so Xander was my first baby experience.

When I was 19, Mary and Xander flew in from Virginia while Jordan trained in Missouri. At the airport, Mary emerged with a tiny blue-wrapped bundle in a stroller. I peered into the blanket to see a tiny face. He was (and is) the spitting image of his dad, but he has Mary's eyes. When a teeny fist wrapped around my finger, tears slid down my face, and I knew right then that I loved him. I loved him when he shrieked because I wasn't his momma, when he vomited on me in the middle of a plane ride, when he peed on his face three times before I could get a clean diaper on him, when he kicked furiously as I changed his diaper till I was elbow-deep in orange poop (no exaggeration there), and even when he kicked me square in the eye socket with his heel (not on purpose). I love him, and I love all four of my nieces. It's amazing how much someone else's child can mean to you. I can't imagine how much my own children will mean to me.

I'm all sentimental...but I just love those kids. When my computer charger finally gets here, and I get the wire to plug my camera into the computer, I'll post pictures of these cute kids that mean so much to me.

Now I'm off to snuggle with my adorable, amazing, fantastic boyfriend.
