For love or money...

money Pictures, Images and Photos

As you all know, a few months ago Sky and I bought our first house. It's wonderful and we love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Unfortunately, my hours at work got cut in half at about that time and hasn't really picked up since. At first, I absolutely loved the time off. I despise working and there is not one thing even remotely likable about my job, so less hours meant more time to do other things.

It also means much less money.

I could change my schedule at work to work swing shifts or graveyards, which would give me nearly a 40-hour week instead of 20. This would obviously give me more hours, plus a raise.

It would also mean never seeing my husband. We get nights and Sundays together, which really doesn't feel like enough, especially when you include family get-togethers and long commutes.

I brought the news home to Sky that I could change my schedule, but it would mean barely spending time together. To my relief, he said no without hesitation.

I would rather be broke than unhappy. So we're completely broke, but very happily married. I will always choose my marriage first.
