At 17 weeks 3 days pregnant, the alarm went off (aka The Worst Sound In The World). I opened my eyes and stayed perfectly still for a moment when I felt what can only be described as a frantic flutter under my belly button. I knew exactly what it was --- my daughter, startled by the loud noise.
Now, two weeks later, I'm beginning to recognize her sleeping patterns and when she's most active (3:00 pm - 9:30 pm). I also know that if I'm moving around, either I can't feel her or she doesn't move. I have to sit or lie down for a few minutes and then she'll start wriggling around.
It's amazing to feel a person kicking, punching, wiggling and somersaulting inside you. Last night I was reading What To Expect When You're Expecting when she kicked so hard I rocked forward, saying, "Oof!" It doesn't hurt (yet) and she hasn't woken me up (yet), but man, can that girl kick!
I haven't seen any movement on the outside yet, but I can feel it on the outside and I love it. LOVE it! It is unbelievably comforting to feel your unborn child kicking away. Every single time she does it, I think, It's okay. Everything is okay. She's still there. There's nothing like it in the world.
I have an ultrasound on Wednesday and I can't wait to see her!

I love that time when you start to feel them, but it isn't uncomfortable yet!
