Smile
Sometimes I think there's an unwritten rule somewhere that all home decor must be trendy, sophisticated or antique (or all 3). I, for one, find that I cannot abide by this "rule". I have things that are cute, trendy, or sophisticated (not antique, but that's because I really don't like old stuff), but I love it when something makes me smile.

My mom and I found these stuffed chicks at ShopKo today for $4.00. We both thought they were so funny and fun. It's just a silly thing I can bring out every year for Easter and enjoy.

I found this guy at Hobby Lobby. (It's a great store. Go there.) I was enchanted by the little fluff on his head, so I brought him home. He must be enticing, because shortly after I got it, I was in the shower and heard a bang. When I came downstairs, the naughty kitty had batted him off the counter and broken off his nose (easy fix with a hot glue gun). I could have got one in pink, blue or green, but I picked yellow because it's a bright, happy color.

Now, on to my favorite. I saw these tiny fluffy chicks at the Hob Lob, and they actually made me giggle aloud. I thought, What can I do with these? At first I figured there wasn't much I could do with them, so I walked away. But I was drawn like a moth to flame back and thought, If I glued them to dowels, I could put them in that cute empty bucket...And viola. They are silly and not at all sophisticated. And I love them.
